No. 862 Gold repousse pair cases, champleve dial, verge - John Brown, London, c1735

MOVEMENT : Gilded verge fusee movement, with particularly finely engraved balance cock and plate. All in good original condition and running well. Fully signed (Jno. Brown, LONDON) and numbered (2625).

DIAL : 36.5 mm, gold champleve, signed 'BROWN, LONDON'. Nice condition and with original 18th century blued steel beetle and poker hands.

INNER CASE : Diameter 41 mm. 22 ct gold. Very worn London hallmark, possibly for 1738. Very good condition throughout with just a few scratches near the catch and a slight depression at the stem. The hinge is fine and the bezel snaps shut nicely. The pendant and bow appear to be original. The high dome crystal is fine.

OUTER CASE : Diameter 47.5 mm. Gold repousse, with no hallmarks or maker's mark. Very good condition with just a little wear to the high points of the repousse. The hinge, catch and button are all fine and the case snaps shut nicely.
