Two Swiss four-colour gold snuffboxes, c. 1780. The richly embellished boxes have three apertures, one for a watch dial, one for the visible spring, balance with diamond end-stone, and the other the seconds dial. The case is stamped PG surmounted by a crown. Other examples by the same goldsmith are a gold snuffbox with watch in the Patek Philippe Museum in Geneva; a gold musical box in the Louvre in Paris; a gold world time bonbonnière in the former Dr Anton Dreesmann Collection, Christie's London 11 April 2002, now in the Patek Philippe Museum. • Widths: 67 mm and 79 mm. source:
