Impressive Empire clock with the Goddess Urania making notes (also spelt Ourania, in Greek mythology, the muse of astronomy and a daughter of Zeus by Mnemosyne and also a great granddaughter of Uranus). Urania is surrounded by mathematic instruments, impressive celestial globe, compass and a drafting compass on top. The beautiful dial with blue stars nicely pierced hands indicating hours, minutes and days of the month. Nice detailed telescope and the pentagram obelisk and regular dodecahedron on the side. The beautiful detailed freeze pictures cupido's playing with mathematic tools. The clock is mounted on the impressive "griott"double plinth. The 8-day striking movement on silk thread suspension.
