An attractive South German small red tortoishell and ebonized bracket timepiece with automaton, circa 1740. Arched brass dial with pewter chapter ring and foliate pierced spandrels, an opening above depicting paradise with Adam and Eve with an encircling snake connected to the going train of the 30-hour movement with verge escapement. The break arch ebonized and tortoishell case raised on four gilt feet. Height 21 cm, Width 17 cm, Deep 9 cm
