An attractive German Black Forest alarm wall timepiece, so-called 'Sorg Uhr', circa 1840
Enamel dial with Roman numerals, iron hands and brass alarm disc, a pressed brass fret with an eagle above, wood posted weight driven movement with anchor escapement and alarm on a bell surmounting the wooden case with side doors.
This type of very small wall clocks were first made by Lord mayor Sorg clockmaker in Neustadt, Black Forest in current Germany.
