AN ATTRACTIVE FRENCH LOUIS XVI GILT BRONZE STRIKING “PENDULE D’OFFICIER”, JEAN FOL A PARIS, CIRCA 1770
11cm enamel dial with Roman numerals and outer five minute marking, finely pierced and engraved gilt hands, rectangular movement signed Jean Fol A Paris with anchor escapement and silk suspended pendulum, countwheel striking on a bell, glazed gilt brass case with four leaf and berry finials, surmounted by a shaped carrying handle, the breakarch front with applied foliate relief and two rosettes, the whole raised on turned feet.
