Case
Small flame mahogany case of good colour and proportions having canted corners to hood and trunk. Brass mouldings to inside edge of hood door. Re entrant mouldings to base panel.
Dial
12” square engraved and silvered brass dial with subsidiary dials for seconds and hours. Sweep minutes. Engraved across dial is "Thos.Ham Skinner Street" in script and "London" in block lettering.
Movement
High quality 8 day movement having Harrisons maintaining power, deadbeat escapement, high count wheel train, six spoke wheel work and six pillar movement. Crutch assembly having fine screw beat adjustment. Wood rod pendulum with massive brass faced bob.
Maker
Thos. ( Thomas ) Ham, Skinner Street, London. There is a JOHN Ham recorded at Skinner St. Snow Hill circa 1820 and I speculate that there may have been a shared workshop between brothers as, stylistically, this regulator is circa 1820.
