Nr. 38. A Louis XVI pendule d'officier, a Swiss travelling clock made around 1780-90.

The fire gilt brass case is of classic design with ornaments to the sides, the front and the top. Surmounted by a carrying handle: a snake eating its own tail, symbolizes the circular nature, the eternal return or cyclicality. It has an enamel dial with an Arabic chapter ring, which is protected by a door with a convex glass. The time is indicated by two pierced gilt brass hands on the enamel dial, which has Arabic hour, Arabic quarter, five-minute and minute divisions. Two day going work with verge escapement and balance with balance spring and regulation. Striking mechanism of striking on a bell the hours and half hour. Pull-quarter striking on two bells. The movement is constructed between round plates and driven by springs in spring barrels. Also alarm function. The alarm time is indicated by a blued steel central hand on the chapter ring. Vuur vergulde kast, klassiek ontwerp met ornamenten op de zijkanten, aan de voor- en bovenzijde. Decorative draaghendel: Een slang bijt in zijn eigen staart en staat symbool voor het circulaire in de natuur, de eeuwige terugkeer. Email wijzerplaat met Arabische cijfers, beschermd voor een convex glas. De tijd wordt aangeduid door twee ajour gezaagde en wijzers, verguld. Op de witte email wijzerplaat in Arabische cijfers aanduidingen van de uren, kwartieren, en verdeling in vijf minuten en minuten. Twee daags gaand werk met spillegang en balans echappement. Slagwerk op een bel van de uren en half uur. Op aanvraag kwartieren slagwerk op twee bellen. Tevens wekker, aangeduid met een blauw gestaalde wijzer. De klok is in een excellente conditie.
