INTRODUCTION Richard Redding Antiques Ltd, one of Switzerland's leading antique and fine art galleries, specialises in the finest French and other European clocks, furniture, silver, bronzes and paintings. The gallery also holds a wide variety of glass, porcelain, antique light fittings and sculpture. The stock is continually changing and in recent years has broadened its field to include a number of works of Chinese and Russian origin. The gallery has a simple buying policy based on one main principle, namely quality. To this extent all pieces that the gallery acquires are very carefully chosen, firstly on grounds of authenticity, then on condition and rarity and sometimes purely for their sheer beauty. Each work of art is expertly researched, aided by information from our own extensive library and as well as through consultation with various experts in their own specialised field. All items are professionally photographed and thus a full colour illustration, a detailed description as well as a written guarantee accompanies every purchase. Our restorers, who work to the highest standards, ensure that every item is presented in perfect museum quality condition. We also take pride in packing all works of art ourselves and use a world-wide door-to-door service to ensure swift and safe delivery. The gallery is also pleased to give written insurance valuations on items you may already own. Richard Redding was born in England and worked as a furniture restorer for nine years before opening up his own antique business in Zurich in 1977. The gallery website was launched in 2002 to coincide with the 25th anniversary of Richard Redding Antiques Ltd, Zurich. It is continually updated and like our biannual publications has become an essential reference point for clients, academics and for all those with a passion for fine quality antiques. We hope that you will enjoy browsing through these pages and in turn would welcome your comments. Moreover we hope that you will come and see our most recent acquisitions in the comfort of our recently refurbished gallery in the heart of Zurich. |
