No 139. Prachtige Mandarijnen speeldoos met trommel, bellen en castagnetten, Zwitserland ca. 1876.

Deze cilinder muziekspeeldoos speelt tien melodieën, muziek van Verdi, Gounod, Offenbach, Von Suppé, Lecocq, Mylins en Cramer. De kist is met palissander gefineerd, heeft een notenhouten rand  en marquetterie  in het deksel en aan de voorzijde. Uniek is de uitvoering met zes bellen, belhamers in de vorm van vlinders, met castagnetten en trommel. Twee polychroom beschilderde Mandarijnen bespelen de gegraveerde bellen. Een speeldoos met een mooi klankrijk muzikaal programma die tevens oog en oor strelend is.

De veer aangedreven cilinder bespeelt drie kammem. Een licht klassiek programma. De 10 melodieën en componisten staan op de originele tunesheet.  Een handel-schakelaar regelt of een melodie wordt herhaald of  dat ze na elkaar worden gespeeld. Met de  veerton en windvleugel kan men de snelheid van het afspelen bijstellen. Op de bedplate gesigneerd E. Karrer Hoffmann, Tufelthal, Suisse.  Mechaniek en houten kist zijn professioneel gerestaureerd en in een fantastische conditie. In de tunesheet zijn drie stempels afgedrukt. Een verwijst naar  de 'International Exhibition Philadelphia -  1876'.

 No 139 A superb Mandarin Cylinder Musibox with drum, bells and castanet, Switzerland ca. 1876.

This musicbox  plays ten melodies, music by Verdi, Gounod, Offenbach, Von Suppé, Lecocq, Mylins and Cramer. The case is veneered with rosewood, has a walnut border and marquetry in the lid and on the front. Unique is the version with six bells, bell hammers in the form of butterflies, with castanets and drum. Two polychrome painted Chinese Mandarins  play the engraved bells. A music box with beautiful sound and rich musical program which is also eye and ear caressing.

The spring-powered cylinder plays three combs. A light classical program. The 10 melodies and composers are on the original tunes called. A handle-switch  controls whether a melody is repeated or whether they are played in sequence. With the spring and wind regulator, one can adjust the speed of playback. On the bedplate signed E. Karrer Hoffmann, Tufelthal, Suisse. Mechanics and wooden case  are professionally restored and in fantastic condition. Three stamps are printed in the tunesheet.
